Skyartec cessna 182--software install 703Tx

Can anybody assist here please.
I have been unable install the Skyartec Pc software for the above.The manual supplied dates back to 2003--along with the CD.
The Silicon Labs CP210xUSB to uart bridge has been installed fine on com port 2 [com port 8 on spare computer].
The FMS software has been installed no problems.
The Tx does not appear on' My Computer'.
When opening Skyartec Pc software.exe RC set comes up and tells me to turn off gear switch and down throttle.[this has already been done]
Press ok- RC screen Set V!-1 comes up and when 'open FMS' pressed then asked to 'perform setup 'Yes or no? ' Yes pressed and simulator screen comes up but no control just flys off into the distance.[this happens even if you press no].
'Control' button on screen pressed- have control using keyboard but not under analog control--using any of the four options given.
Dont understand here--is not the TX digital--that's what it says.
Is the setup I have been supplied not compatible with WIN XP which I am using ?
The Tx works just fine with the Cessna.But I'm not that keen on flying it without a lttle practice.Could be expensive.
