How Can I Save Preferred Settings?

How Can I Save Preferred Settings?

Postby rckowal » Wed Aug 01, 2007 8:05 pm

I need a bit of help from the knowledgeable FMS users on this forum.

Is there a way to save my preferred pilot position & landscape perspective as defaults/custom settings?

When I finish a session, exit, then reopen FMS; the custom settings I made are gone (grrrrr). Instead, the original defaults are opened.

read my photolistic thread or your other thread rckowal
i figured it out.

I bascially changes the pilot position in the .scn files.
now that i figure out how to open .snc files.

it saids use text editor...what is a text editor ?
window words i think..lol

I used notepad and I set it up like so.. I did the right click (open with)
on the file and it'll say nope, nope you can't open it.
i click on the brows botton and used notepad to open it...and waalaa.

all of my .scn files has a little notepad thumbnail on them now.
So i don't have to do the brows no more.

Hi smcxx66,

Thanks for the tip. A text editor can be Notepad or Wordpad depending upon how your file associations are setup. When you "browsed" you reset your associations so Text files will open with Notepad.

Although I now understand the concept of editing the .scn files, I just haven't had the time to experiment with them. I tried a few quick changes but didn't keep them since they were not what I had in mind. Good luck.

Best regards

(model posistioning)
I changed just the first number in the skybox mode from
an old .scn files... a negative sign. This will flip the model
from facing left to facing right

in the regular world scenerie , i changed (decreased)the pilot posistion
to -160, then assign the second colum the same as the the model..i forget.

Anyways, now my view is with my back to the shack and looking
at the model's rt side. My real flying site is set up like so.

x,y.... it's like algebra,

the Z gives me geometry or 3D
