New flyer in need of advice

First of all this is a great site, I love FMS! I started flying in October of last year and am currently flying a Hobbico Avistar. My goal is to be able to fly the airplane that grabbed my attention and made me want to fly, that is the Curtiss Pitts. What I don't want to do is buy this plane and not have the skills to fly it. Is it too much of a jump to go from a Avistar (high wing intermediate trainer) to the Pitts? If so, what would be a good next plane to help me prepare for a bi-plane? I'm thinking of buying my next plane sometime this summer.

How realistic is the Pitts in FMS?

Well,

I've been flying for about 4 years now and learned on a CG Eagle 2.

Got pretty good at it I thought, flew other, quicker planes belonging to my friends....

Got a second hand pitts, I was in the air about 10 sec. complete write off.

Back to my Eagle. Thought I learned a little. Built a CG Super Chipmunk with a Saito .91. Alot of money and alot of labour later..... Got about 8 flights on it "WHAM" Complete write off. Engine banged up pretty bad too.

Cost me $900.00 Canadian to date...Engine not repaired yet.

Moral.........

Don't be in a rush, I'll give you three trys to tell me what I'm back flying and the first two don't count.

Best of luck,

Don
