Airbrakes for gliders - Found a way to slow gliders down

To effectively slow down a glider for landing:
Edit your par file and enter a negative value for max thrust.
I tried -8 N on the George Gerdes Speedwing model.
Then use the throttle to control braking effect. Minimum setting=No Braking;Max setting=Maximum braking(8N in my example) and anything in between.
Looks very realistic and slows down nicely. Experiment with the negative thrust setting to find the effective setting for your chosen model glider.

If the sound effects irritate you - turn off your sound!

Perfect way to simulate spoilers. Real fun Have been experementing with some settings with the DG1000. Landing is now so easy. Setting for the DG1000: -3.5

About the noise.
Why not add an air-noise so you can hear your glider swishes trough the air.

about the .par, how do you open these folders? i clicked on them and a window appears and it said open with. what program do i open .par with?

You Can use different programs.

Notepad ion yous computor or ParDesigner.

Wow, this is a GREAT program.

I'd like to add airbrakes to the Nimbus (downloaded from other site), but: the Par file seems to contain non printable chararcters. Sure one can edit it with Notepad? Anyway, I don't find an entry for Max thrust. Could you reply with the exact line to add (or to change) in an existing par file?
