very new to this - software for training on my rc plane!

well here is something new to do soon! got a rc plane for xmas 3 yrs ago built it, ran taxi tests did not want to fly without some time at pc simulator! have a Futaba 4vf-fm control. and would like to find software to try and test. i can fly real planes 2,4 ,6 seaters single engine.200 hrs +..just dont want to crash all that work. saw free download beta .7. i should be able to make a cable, serial port to 5 pin conn. on rc control unit. have good 3d all in one video card lots of ram and mem. any help? thanks!

I'm not sure what kind of help you looking for. You seem to have come to decision regarding your interface, have a reasonably good machine [according to your self] and know about planes. Can you be a bit more specific please about the kind of help you need?

THANKS FOR RESPONDING, looking for software and interface that will work with futaba 4vf and pc. is thetrainer 5 pin rear port on the futaba analog out, something like a joy stick or a x&y axis yoke w/ rudder pedals? already have that with flight sim. want to use futaba to get used to different way to control flight. where this was bought from they wanted waaaay to much $$$$ for the software! thats why i stopped!

You are well on your way to using your transmitter as the control device. All you need is an interface cable to connect your transmitter to your computer.

There are many cheap cables to buy or build.

To help you decide we need to know:
Describe the trainer connector on your transmitter.
What operating system are you using?
Which version of FMS do you have?
Will you be using your transmitter with just FMS or do you plan on using it with other flight simulators?

Miss, I think you may have missed the fact that this site you're posting on is the home site of a free simulator FMS. The "FMS Homepage" link at the top of the page will get you to a free download of the sim.

The FMS manual contains several circuits for interfaces which you can build to connect to the trainer port on your TX (though unless it's very old I think you'll find it's probably a 6-pin DIN not 5-pin). Time to do a little reading on the FMS homepage then ask again when you have a better idea what exactly you're trying to do.
