windows ME/ PC not recognizing transmitter

I have a windows ME computer and the program works ok but the transmitter is not recognized by this pc......even when I go into games and controllers in the control panel, its not there,......does anyone know how to get this PC to recognize this transmitter?

It might be easier to help if you say what "this transmitter" is...and also how you are connecting it to the PC.

I have the e-sky sim program, the transmitter came with the sim itself, it is not a real rc transmitter it plugs into the PC thru the usb port.
