Display freezes-blacks out-continues - Problen

I have been flying FMS for over a month now with NO problems. Yesterday, my son-in-law came over and plugged my CH Yoke for flight simulator and started to fly MS Flight simulator. When he got done, he tried to fly FMS, and now the program freezes for a second, the screen goes black, and then it comes back on where it left off. Does anyone out there in FMS land think that there is a conflict between the CH Yoke and FMS? Please give me some advice. Thanks

I uninstalled version 8.? and installed 7. It is working fine now.
