New pc - No serial ports -> FMS doesn't start.

Hello,

I've got a new computer, haven't used FMS before, and I am new to model plans. I want to pick up on this hobby. A friend recommended FMS. I downloaded it and installed it, that went fine. But it crashes as soon as I run it.

Looking around on the forums I noticed that some people could get it working by enabling the Serial ports. Problem is, I do not have such a setting in my BIOS, neither does my motherboard have any such legacy connectors.

Is there any way I can get this working? Or any other simulator that you'd recommend?
