Jittery controls

I am running Win98se. I cannot get the 32 bit vxd option to work and can't figure out why. I use the 16 bit dll option and the controls are very glitchy. The blue bars jump all over the place all the time. The planes wiggle and wobble in the air. I read on this forum to disable sound in fms to correct this. Well it works a lot better, but I would like to have sound too. Any ideas? I am running a soundblaster 16 card.

I also read in this forum about the type of radios causing problems. A friend has an old Futaba attack radio and his bars are rock steady. I am using a Hitec Flash 5X. I am going to take my radio over to his computer to see if it is my computer setup. He is running the 32-bit vxd option which may also make a difference.

Which interface circuit are you using, parallel/serial etc ? Exactly which circuit, where from ? They're all different.

I am using one of Matt Clement's serial port cables. My suspicion is that my computer is not up to the task of running FMS. I have a pent 166 running at 188 Mhz. I have to turn down the resolution to get it to run satisfactorily. It works ok but could be much better. Disabling the sound results in one less thing it has to take care of and improves the performance. I will keep experimenting.
