MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum(Chipset NForce3 Ultra), Athlon64 FX-55, 2x 512 MB PC400 Corsair XMS (2.0-2-2-2-5), GF 6800 GT 256MB;
same problems.

can you post (or email me) once more the exact error message you get on that new system.
does this system has a com port, that is enabled and working?

About the linux port: I think i have answered that question already many times. I would be very happy to have a linux port as well. The problem is that we used Borland Delphi and Microsoft DirectX to develop the FMS. Microsoft DirectX is not available on Linux, and Kylix (Delphi for Linux) doesn't make very happy. I had the new FMS 3D engine (not published yet) written in Delphi running with winex on linux. But winex is commercial ... and like wine it is no native port. At the moment i am analysing if it is possible to port the whole FMS code to c# and .net, which is available on linux as well. Maybe this will lead to a linux, windows version that can be further developed with freely available compilers.
