I downloaded the standard version, it was no good then i downloaded the disks version, tried installing it and message says fms on system please uninstall , which i did using the add/remove programs, but still wont install.

:(:(:(win ME system. Can anyone help me with this.

My download was just fine. Enter the GERMAN Page and pick DOWNLOAD (it's the same word. Then select the full file...)

That should work fine!

thanks totmacher, i've got the download okay, but it wont install says version of fms on system please uninstall, but i already did uninstall..

Use a different folder! I didn't want to reboot, that's why even did that myself. :-)

I don't even get that far, i double click it and get the message it doen't do anything at that point. do you know where in registry or ini files reference to fms is?

But: Did you reboot? Did you use UNINSTALL from the operating system?

I got it working, i had to restore an earlier registry.

i dont know why just that it worked..!!!!

I have the same problem installing FMS 7.

Unfortunately I have Windows 98 which to my knowledge does not offer playback of earlier versions of the registry.

Obviously I wil have to adjust the Windows 98 registry in order to get it working. Any suggestions / help is highly appreciated.

I don't know what line you need to edit, but you can get to registry by clicking run on start menu and typing in

regedit

you may be able to find it.

Mr. Manato succeeded to exit from the error. (Stop at setup and cannot overwrite with the new version beta7)
This is his way under Mr. Masuoka's advice.
After running [regedit] program from windows [start] button (typing file name)
The registry tree will appear.
Select [HKEY_CURRENT_USER] > [Software] > [Flying-Model-Simulator]
Then delete [Flying-Model-Simulator]
And retry setting up beta7
I think this may fit for some users.

Hi

I forgot to mention this. The FMS 2.0 Beta 7 checkes wether there is already a version of FMS installed on the system. This is done by reading from the registry on the key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Flying-Model-Simulator\Version
If this key exists the FMS won't install.
If you have had installed some internal test-versions (that didn't remove these keys when uninstalled) or got on other ways to that keys just delete the whole path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Flying-Model-Simulator
The installer should then install without problem.

After all I came to the same solution as you did ... the first time I messed around with the registry... and guess what Windows 98 didn't even crash... ;-)

The system then still would not install giving me some "Zugriffsverletzung" - Error.

However, this error only occured when trying to install the full package file. Downloading the splitted files enabled installing the program with no problem.
