Serial to USB converters sometimes take COM ports 5, 6 in the system.
This is ok with FMS under Win 98: these ports are available.
But under Win XP, it seems that only COM 1 to 4 are available to FMS. Other softwares can access COM 5 and above.
I had the prob testing my JOYSTICK software that adds trim, expo, travel limits, a.s.o. to the joystick input, like on a real RC transmitter.
The config was: USB, USB to serial, null modem cable, serial to USB.
