Laptop crashe with FMS - Help needed

I have a Toshiba Satellite 3000 Laptop (running Win 2K) with NVIDIA GeOForce2 Go. I use the PIC serial cable with a USB/SERIAL Laptop adapter (BELKIN). Upon starting the application for FMS, it will run very well during 3 min and 10 min then it will crash Windows and bring up a blue screen with a KMODE error, what is happen. I am trying to reduce the video accelerator not to NONE because video runs with one frame by sec it is not interesting. I have put it in middle range. I have set the color to 16 Bit, I load the patch fms exe a.7.5.1.zip. I go to graphics, Optioned and disable the mimaping and I tied to change the setting for the Receive and transmit Buffer of the serial port and nothing changes. I still get the blue screens. Please, is someone able to help me with this. Thanks
