Trouble getting started - No Control

Postby Jeff in So Cal » Sat Mar 19, 2005 10:33 pm

I have loaded the latest version of the software on my Dell running Windows XP Home. The software appears to be working nominally off the keyboeard. I have been trying to get a Futaba rc simulator transmitter wired with a 25 pin female serial connector to control the airplane. No inputs are recognized. The Futaba simulator came with an older RC software simulator called RC Aerochopper. I am assuming that their are no drivers for this interface in the software. I have tried all of the various options for Comm ports, etc in the FMS software. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks for the reply,

I'll try the transmitter I have on another machine running 98 with the FMS software and see if I have better luck. Can I use adapters to convert to the USB interface with any hope of success using this transmitter? If not, does anyone sell just the transmmitter with a USB connection?

Thanks again,

Jeff

Thanks for the reply Aeropal,

Running the risk of exposing my ignorance regarding a couple of the terms you used: What are you referring to when you say "square ports" in reference to the Tower Hobbies/Futaba hardware?

Who or what brand of "real" transmitter interface do you recommend for a USB connection?
