FMS_dbg_doflip.exe - Beta 7 Frame Rate Problem Fixed

I had the problem in Beta 6 where you had to set the resolution to get a good frame rate. Beta 7 had the same frame rate problem, but couldn't be fixed.

While running FMS_dbg_doflip.exe the frame rate seems to be fine. The other debug versions didn't make a difference.

I'm running WIN2K Server w/ an ATI Rage Pro video card and an ABIT dual processor motherboard (running Celeron 300A's overclocked to 450Mhz).

I would be happy to help with any further testing of any sort.

Yes... the doflip version rectifies the rate problem in W2K.

On my laptop running windows 2k the doflip version fixed the frame rate issue but the screen flashed and was unusable.

Any thoughts?

Hi Goldfinger,

Yeah, FMS doesn't like getting switched-out of (say by using Alt+TAB) very much. It seems to flash between a grey frame and a rendered frame (if I'm keeping up with it).

You can fix it by using Alt+R and then the number of choice (such as 8 for 800x600), but it resets the simulation and you're back on the landing strip. At least you don't crash Windoze.
