WinXP Crash Fixed for me

I was getting the launch program and crash with error report just like a whole bunch of others and a post a few days ago mentioned the com ports (serial ports) need to be present. I have the E-Sky USB controller with the bundled FMS and it doesn't need a serial/com port to connect, but the program still needs one active to run !

I went into the BIOS and enabled my serial port 1 (Com1) and FMS loads and works great !

So those of you with laptops or non-legacy mobos (read almost ALL new mobos) that have no serial ports are out of luck unless this can be fixed.

Can you clarify - was FMS launching and running for a time, then your PC would crash, or was yours a different scenario? Mine crashes after 5-10 minutes of flight time.
