Problem with FMS on XP MCE

I've had noproblem installing FMS on XP Pro or XP Home (Alpha 8.3 & 8.5) but on Media Centre Edition, eben though all files are present in the FMS program file it simple refuses to open.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Perhaps no DirectX installed?
Run DirectX Dignostic Tool (dxdiag.exe) and verify that DirectX version is 7 or higher (Actually versions 7 to 9c are OK).
The DirectX version is displayed at the bottom of the 'system' tab.

I've just run diagnostic and found that I have 9c installed so that doesn't seem to be the problem. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
