Vista/FMS/Esky0404 USB transmitter installation Problem

Dell Laptop running windows Vista with Esky transmitter 0404 and usb connection. I have gotten to the point that FMS runs with keyboard. Now the problem is using the controller. I have the batteries out the usb connected (and flashing red) Vista recognizes it as a Human Interface Device (HID) but FMS gives no option of the Joystick/Transmitter for use I am also unfamiliar with Vista so am not sure how to test to see if Vista even realizes its a joystick and not something else (HID is kind of a vauge description) any help will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Is there a Download available to run the LAMA 4 in the FMS sim?
If so where may one locate it?

well after all the pain and suffering its over. gave up and tried hooking it up with the batteries installed and guess what (it works). So for EVERYone else who has read the manual first (yeah i know) and tried to follow the poorly translated english grammatics ignore the line that says "with out the batteries..."and just plug em in nothing blew up on my computer and now the controller shows up in fms and allows calibration under both Vista and FMS (using the mouse to click next as the controller has no buttons.
