d3drm.dll or winmm.dll ????

Help, I have downloaded FMS and SmartPropoPlus. After hours, I am stuck. I am running Vista on a Dell laptop. As downloaded, I got errors indicating a problem with d3drm.dll. As suggested on this forum, I downloaded this file. It did make FMS run, but I can't calibrate the controller, due to a error with winmm.dll. Seems I can either have one of the .dll files, but not both. RMS win not run without d3drm.dll, and SPP can't run without winmm.dll. Any suggestions???
