I ran across a program that allows any program to directly access IO ports on Win200, XP and NT. I tried it on FMS but the menu choice for parallel port does not work. I was wondering if FMS detects WinXP as the OS and disables the parallel port menu choice or does FMS actually probe the IO port to determine if it should be available? If it is the former, disbaling the parallel port menu because WinXP is the OS, than would it be possible to get a version of FMS that does not disbale the parallel port? I would volunteer to test this if it were available. The site, has a good discussion of how the software works and how to write programs to access IO ports under WinXP.
