Hitek Focus-3 AM Single Stick Radio - Anyway to construct an FMS interface by soldering???

I have a Hitek Focus-3 AM radio (entry level), which does not have a buddy socket. I have flown FMS using the thrust-master joystick, but would like to use the radio for more realistic training. I am very good at soldering and breadboarding, being in electronics for 30 years. Just want to know if this can be done at all. Thanks.

Humble

You should be able to find the signal connection. Usually the coder board is separate to the output board and connected by 3 wires: +, -, signal. If you have a 'scope diagnosis is easy. Otherwise you can use a multimeter to work out the +and - and then the rest is easy! Remember to remove the crystal to disable the output while using FMS.

My interfaces use a 10k input impedance so connecting them to the wrong connectors will not damage either equipment. See for circuits you can use or ready built interfaces. :biggrin:
