Windows Interrupt? Interface problem? - Dont know which one!

Hello everyone.
I am just starting to go into model heli flying.
Right now I just finished soldering the interface between my JR xp652 to a serail port.

But it didn't work. Now the problem is I don't know if it is a hardware problem (i.e. I didn't get the circuit right)
or a windows interrupt and memory mapping problem.

How do I know when interrupt and memory address are? I have only one parallel port and the windows hardware manager says the LPT port is at 0x378 and using interrupt 03. Is that it?

Can anyone help me out?

Serial port as you say first or parallel port as you say afterwards ? They're not the same thing.

Normally LPT1 (parallel) is on x378. Check that the port is set in the BIOS to EPP or ECP mode. Check that there are no interrupt clashes (usually it's a soundcard that causes the problem, disable interrupts for it if so).

Exactly which interface circuit are you using (URL please) ? They don't all work well with JRs some of which have a rather strange trainer signal.

I mistyped.
The diagram i used i used uses a parallel port.

By[/url] the way, is there anyay I can check by using a scope and function generator to see if my mono plug interface works? which pins should I check?

I am in fact an engineering student. But I do embedded programming more. i am pretty bad at circuits.
