Interface "Type" question

Is there any practical difference between the Parallel/Serial IRQ interface "32-Bit-VXD" or "16-Bit-DLL"? I have mine set for the former but see no difference when I compare. The software graphics are set to 32-bit. Forgive me if I'm unknowingly asking something silly, but I don't know and I want to.
