Hi!

I am about to buy a Robbe/Futaba Skysport 4 (T-4VF) for use with FMS only and was wondering if the are any problems with this TX and the interface described in the manual (resistor+zener-diode combination and A=pin4=signal, B=ground)?

Any suggestions, info or something to know before I buy the TX?

Things to Check:

1. Does it have a trainer connection?
2. What operating system are you using?
3. Will you be flying airplanes or Helicopters. Do you need any mixing functions from the radio?

In general it should work if it has a trainer connector and you are running Win95 or Win98. If you are running Win2000 or WinME you will need the joystick or PIC interface cables as these operating systems don't support the cheaper interfaces.

If the radip does not have a buddy port it may be possible to add the connector. Check other post to see if it has already beed done on your modle radio.

A quick search for "Skysport" found multiple post of people that have gotten the radip to work with FMS and a Parallel interface.

Now it's just up to what operating system you use.

Yes I see...but I want to use the serial port as this one is not used in my comp right now. The OS I am using is Win98 so it would probably work all right!

just to add that i am using WinME and a serial interface with my futaba radio without any problems.

Hi Make sure you have a games controller installed on your pc and the skysports4 interface will work. I have mine on the serial port with the 680 ohm's with the z-diode. Ground = 5, Signal = 9, Good luck
