Hey JR Kids,
Just today, I found this sim software, forum, and thankfully, the JR Propo audio interface. Hmmm, seems I didn't need to order the RS232 interface I ordered 5 minutes before finding the link . . . suspect I'll find use for it though.
I was able to get everything loaded and through a bit monkey business with different sound setting, I can now fly airplanes, gliders, and helis. Seems smooth in control, no glitches in surfaces. I took screen shots of the settings I'm using, can cobble something together if anyone is interested.
Next, will see if I can set up heli mode for 3D flying. I have an old Helix brand heli sim that used a Tx so have a little experience there. Yes, I fly RC Heli, but to date save the radical stuff for software (much cheaper).
System Profile:
Win2000
800 MHz notebook
JR Tx (388, 8103, and 10SX II). Started with the older 388 just in case something blew up, but about to hook up my 8103 and see what I can do.
Regular (commercial) trainer cord for the audio/Tx interface
I've been searching for a sim that I can use to teach a kid to fly RC gliders (before we get to the field). This software more than fills the bill as I can now also teach him basic thermal techniques. This is assuming he can pry the Tx from my mesmerized fingers!!!
Cheers!
Dave
