I have built a prototype to control FMS models with ANY radio
using 2 servos to control a simple pC joystick and 2 additionals
servos for throttle and tail control. It is all mechanical really.
It works very well I use FMS 2 and window XP

Great idea!
20 years ago I built a hand-writing-scanner by modifying a simple 2-axis-joystick. You were able to take small pen-like stick which was connected via some levers with the joystick-sensors and could just do some hand-writing, which was then displayed on the computer sreeen.
Looks that you've thought in the same way...

Seems to me it would be cheaper to buy a dedicated interface rather than use reciever, servos and a joystick.
