Best Interface for Win2k and JR

I just upgraded my computer and O/S yesterday and unfortunately my Paralell port interface no longer works. After reading through some of the post I discovered that this was because of Win2k. So my question is what is the best interface that I can use with win2k.

I have read about this "PIC" interface and an audio interface. I would personally not like to spend a lot of money on the interface if I didn't have to but I would also like to be able to use my Tx with other games (If possible). Can the audio interface do that. And if so, how do I make one.


And I can't tell you guys how happy I am with my new PC setup. I was running and AMD K6 with on-board graphics and with the resolution set at the lowest and all of the graphics options off I could only run between 8-10 fps in the sky.

My new setup, AMD Duron 1.2ghz and ATI Radeon 7000, on the ground it runs anywhere between 60-85 fps and in the sky it goes up between 90-105fps. Purely awesome performance. And this is all at 1024x768 and all of the graphics options on.

The audio interface is most likely the cheapest.

The only interface that will work with other games if the Joystick interfaces. I don't think the audio interface would work with outher games but it might be worth a try since it's so cheap.

If the audio interface works for you. its the cheapest and you are home free.

Otherwise you will have to go for the PIC interface.

Hi all. I tried the audio interface yesterday. I was getting a signal from the TX but it was jumping around like the 16-bit DLL parralel port interface, but a lot worse.


Do you guys know I can fix this problem.

did you try adjusting the volume/gain level on the mic input?

Also try plugging it into the line in socket instead of the mic socket.

Have you tried a calibration yet ?? You might have the audio input levels ok, but the signals/channels will "jump" around every where in FMS until you do a calibrate for the first time....
