Hi all,

I would like to give FMS a try Version 2 Beta 7. Which interface solution gives the best results (Best feel / resolution) ie Parallel, USB, Serial etc for a Windows 2000 / XP operating system and Futaba ZAP transmitter.

I would prefer to build my own if there are circuit diagrams available.

Any advice / experiences would be appreciated.

For 2000/XP you need the PIC microcontroller based interface. The older parallel/serial ones don't work. Circuit diagrams/software etc are under Interface in the FMS folder when you've installed it. You do need the ability to program a PIC but it's not complicated. Alternatively there are kits you can buy.

Your choices for win2000 are :
PIC Serial
Joystick
Audio (Joystick simulator)

The last one is new but almost free. It is a software driver that uses a standard audio cord in most cases or the same cord with the connector changed on the transmitters side if needed.
