PIC Interface Power Source ???

I plan to build a PIC Interface with the 12C508 as shown in the info provided with FMS. What is the source of the power supply Vcc ?? Can you take this from the computer parallel port and should this be 5 VDC ??

Think I figured it out...the 5VDC (Vcc) come off the zener diode. Please disregard this message.

That's correct, you have it. But just in case you're getting confused about something else the PIC interface uses a SERIAL/COM port not a parallel/printer port.
