I need a way to program and use a PIC12C508A04/P09Y with a 9 pin serial port with Windows XP. The recommended programmer appears to use a different type of port. What can I use with a 9 pin com port under WinXP?

Have a look on my webpage. There is a circuit for PIC12C508 and 12C509. There's also links to other interfaces.

Between the 12C508 and 508A, there should not be any difference in the software. The type A is just an improvement of the 508, and the 508 is no longer manufactured, as I understand from Microchip.

Thanks Eric, but after blowing an entire Saturday messing with this stuff I decided to abandon FMS and the PIC interfce.
