For those wondering what this was about, it turns out that the person who posted the article had oredered a PIC Serial interface kit from me and sent the order via PayPal to an incomplete email address. PayPal then cancelled the transaction and refunded the money, but it was not noticed by the purchaser who got fed up waiting and posted the message here.

I ordered a pic interface from Mr. Hewitt and paid through Paypal, which is not very user friendly. Ken Hewitt, on the other hand, was very user friendly. I sent the order on Sunday, and the goods were with me Thursday. All working beautifully, and without any of the hitches to which so many electronic thingies are prone.

$20 for a ready made unit? DOH ! Why didn't I see that listed on your web site?

I received my KIT today and was looking for instructions on how to put it all together. I would have bought the ready made unit if I had known it was available ... save me the trouble of putting the pieces together.

Oh well ...

Got Kens interface. Works a treat! Was flying (crashing?) in a few minutes. Only damage- a few bent electrons!!!

Is this the interface that I need to work in Windows XP? Does this require a driver? Is this seen as a gaming device in the control panel?

Steve the Yes should be a No, the PIC serial interface iss not seen as a gaming devicce in controll panel.

Oops, you're right of course Ken. I need to get my brain in gear, I was thinking of your USB/JSIM interfaces.
