Joystick drivers for other interfaces - Making joystick drivers for (PIC, audio)

I think that joystick interface are very expensive and are really hard to build.
It would be great if we can get (PIC, AUDIO, etc) interfaces to work with other games except FMS.
For that we need to create some windows drivers, to make windows understand the interfaces.
With this making a Joystick interface would be so easy has flight a model plane.
I'm a student in computer programing and i'm really interested in work to this. If anyone want to join me post a message and we can get this going on.

Ok, so we have the audio-input driver for PCM Tx's, and USB and gameport interfaces for others too.. But I still want that serial joystic driver! =) I don't want to upgrade my radio, I want to make as much as possible myself, and I already made the serial interface with a AVR microcontroller.. and would like to use my Tx for other sims too. And in addition, I can't get USB uC's anywhere reasonably near. So does anybody have any programming information on Win game controller drivers, SDK or anything?
