Interface trouble in lamen's terms

Need help please. I've done a search to see if my questions were already answered but I don't believe so. If they are then I don't understand them. I purchased a U3 cable from Helihobby for my Hitech Laser 4. Needless to say I can't get it to work. I run XP Pro so I bought the cable with the USB adaptor and I'm not sure my computer recognizes it. No "found new hardware" screen comes up. Should I load the drivers myself using a COM port or should I use a HID port. I'm not using a USB root hub so I can discount that. I've run a PIC check from the TTi website and it's showing nothing in any of the COM ports. I also don't understand what these BIOS chipset types are (Chipset f and Chipset c) and do they matter. I have gone through and tried all of the BIOS settings in the Integrated peripheral (SPP EPP ECP EPP&ECP) to no avail. I'm lost! Help!

Did you ever get your FMS working, if so how. I have the same setup and the same prolems.
