How do I make a cable for my JR radio that will work with FMS.Is it just a cable that plugs into the mic input on my PC.

Just buy a mono cable with a 3.5mm jack on each end of the cable.

You can find all necessary info on Shaul's site! Cable -> JR -> ...

I have just ordered a HI-TEC Neon SS 3 channel radio from Tower Hobbies.com. I am not sure what type of equipment I need to get the transmitter to work with FMS. Nor get it to be compatible with my laptop. Can I still use SmartPropoplus?

The site did not really say what pin or other photos of the radio. Does anyone own this type of radio?

Thanks

The standard Hitec Neon SS does not have the trainer socket needed to use it with a sim....it's an add-on. If you've bought that additional "Trainer Function Upgrade" then it can be used with SmartPropoPlus with the right cable.

Hi,
You can also find the required ppm signal and ground inside the transmitter, and install a plug, with help of:

and build your own cable.

So the Neon SS 3 channel radio that I bought cannot be used for FMS? The tech notes said it could be made trainer compatible. So there must be a plug in somewhere, right? My goal is to somehow use the HI-TEC radio in FMS so I can lear how to fly and get used to my radio before using it on my plane. Is there anything that I can do. I have not received the radio yet but it should be coming in pretty soon.

You could read the messages Phil and I posted ;). I.e. you can open it up and mess about inside as per Phil's instructions or you can order and fit the "Trainer Function Upgrade" (part #54303) that I mentioned....which makes it trainer compatible.

I received my radio and did not add-on the trainer function yet. Is it possible to create a trainer cord inside the transmitter? I have 6 prongs in a row on the trainer portion of my circuit board of the transmitter. I cannot locate any details on what the wire should be coming off of my circuit board. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That's a good place to hook up your student connector. As explained in TX2TX, first locate the ground connection (it is usually connected to the minus of the battery) and then find a ppm signal with the scope. Check validity with the thermometer.
