FMS Running on Vista, but it can't see controller

I'm using my controller hooked up through the "line in" input on the PC, and I can't seem to get FMS to see it. I've downloaded both:

http://users.skynet.be/phildc/Files/RCAudio.exe - shows audio activity and appears to work fine.

and

joystick.exe - closes immediately after I click on the joystick button

When I choose the "Resources" button under the analog controller option in FMS, I see "Not available" under both joystick options.

Everything works fine on my laptop, so it's definitely a PC issue.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Are you using SmartPropoPlus with the FMS?

Since its vista Im not sure what it is i you are. However, I would start by making sure that program is running.
