How can I run FMS using a secind joystick?

I have a usb joystick/throttle combo (from thrustmaster) as Joystick #1.
I have a usb joystick/throttle combo (from Realflight G2) as Joystick #2.

How can I fully operate FMS using Joystick 2? I can set up the ailerons and elevator okay as channels 7 and 8 but if I enter in channels 9 and 10 for throttle and rudder, I still can't seem to control these functions.

It appears that FMS only allows us to select any of the first 8 channels it sees from the both joysticks. Is that correct?

I have had the same problem (W98SE). I think WXP may allow you to select.

Anyway the only solution I have found is to temporarily remove Joystick1. I did at least find in my case that the original Joystick 1 (MS force feedback) was in the 'Add' list so it was easy to return it.

Thank's for the reply. It's not good news but you saved me a few hours of banging my head against the wall trying to find a solution that did not involve pulling joysticks or swapping ID #'s.

Sounds like a good feature for the future might be for FMS to read, say, 12 channels instead of only 8.
