Using the PIC 12F675, reduces the cost of development, as this PIC is a flash device, which can be re-programmed like the PIC 16F84. No more need for windowed versions, or throwing away of OTP devices if a programming error occured.

Hi Eric.
I agree with you, the 12F6xx series is the way to go. I have been using these in my latest interfaces. I'm afraid the 508 has gone the way of the DODO bird.
I have used up my stock of 508's and will now use the 12F6xx microcontrollers. There is a lot more features in them too and for about the same price.
