Joystick won't work on helis

Can anyone tell me why I get full control of the fixed wing models using my MS joystick, whereas all 3 helis are not controlled at all by it?
The calibration is done, the bars all respond exactly the same way as when a fixed wing model is loaded, but there is no control response from the heli model to the joystick. At the same time, the heli does respond to the keyboard quite normally.

I must have posted this 50 times by now .

"If you find that your transmitter/joystick works fine with planes in FMS but you can't control the helicopters check that you have set up the bottom 4 channels on the LH side of the Mapping/Calibration screen. It's those bottom 4 settings that control the helis and lots of people seem to miss them at first."
