EF Helicopter Sabre

I recently bought the EF Helicopter's Sabre. I have the TX to PC serial adapter. It is a 4 channel Tx.

I can not get it to work with FMS. I have installed both PPJoy and PICJOY. I believe my Tx is supplying input to my computer because PPJoyCom gives me the "beep on serial input". Plus I can get a response from the helicopter in FMS - just not the one I want.

How should I set PPJoyCom's serial protocol?

How should I map PPJoy Virtual Joystick 1 in the Parallel Ports Joystick in Control Panel?

How should I set up the controller in FMS?

I have FMS on Analog Control with Joystick Interface selected. When I click Resources, I get 6 solid blue lines and it says Microsoft PC driver, 6 axis, status: active.

When I click mapping/calibration in this same control panel, I get 8 full or half blue bars but no response from any control input in the calibration screen.

If I put SmartProPlus into the FMS folder I get random blue bar responses in the calibration screen. But since I'm not plugging in the TX via my soundcard, I don't think I need SmartProPlus...true?

I have spent hours on this and have searched this and other sites. I'm at a complete lose.
