aileron won't work

I've checked the Sidewinder joystick calibration and the joystick is operating fine. The FMS calibration recognizes the 4 channels for aircraft operation but the roll will not work when its time to fly. Fms was previously installed on windows 98 on this computer and it worked fine. Have recently upgrade to xp and now we have this problem.....

If all 4 channels move correctly when calibrating about the only thing left is that you haven't set the channel numbers up correctly on the LH side of the mapping/calibration screen.

Or just one more possibility.....the model you're trying to fly may not have ailerons . There are quite a few 3-channel models for FMS.
