3 input usb joystick help!

I've got a Logitech attack 3 joystick, it has 3 inputs: x axis, y axis and throttle.
it also has a heap of buttons but they don't seem to work. how can i get it to fly properly!!!!

So, apparently, you joystick provides the axes for a 2-axes plane, not a 3-axes.
The buttons are not of great help.
You could try to define the same axe for rudders and ailerons, if this helps some plane models. For helis, no real solution.

In addition to the functions offered by the Windows configuration panel, you may explore your joystick axes and buttons with:


Select joy 1 or 2 in the menu, and press the 'Joystick' button. The axes and buttons that you move or press on your joystick will be displayed. Other functions of this software are not of interest for your problem.
