Both answers can be found on the window you use to calibrate your joystick in FMS.
Remember, when you fly airplanes you use the top 4 channels to map your input device to the controls of FMS.
When you fly helicopters you use the bottom 4 channels.
You can have the top 4 and the bottom 4 channels maped at the same time and FMS chosses which to use as you select the model to fly.
Also notice that when you fly airplanes you control throttle and rudder but on helicopters you control pitch and rottor.
In this version of FMS the throttle on a helicopter is fixed and you control the pitch.
You can select EXP to simulate exponential inputs (slows down the response around the center of the stick).
