how to make a model? - Questions on creating FMS models?

Greetings to every one.

I would like to start making my own model and have some basic questions if any one be kind enought to answer.

1) What are the basic set of files a model needs?
2) Does metasequoia make all of these files or do I need the ParDesigner to creat the PAR files?
3) It appears that on some models the bmp file that defines the color and pattern is missing, where do these models get their info?
4) What is in the .x file? And how does one create one?
5) I have noticed from the PAR file that planes of same size wingspan appear on the FMS as completely different sizes what is the reason for this and can it be corrected?
6) What is the claculation/ conversion from Maximum Thrust (Newtons) into CC engin size.
7) what files are made by: Geoex?

Hi Spitfire,

you need MetaseqouiaLE, a Pardesigner and a paint-prog. as paint from MS.

The model needs four files to get fly.

1. .x-File (was created by Metaseqouia)
2. .bmp-File (cover(skin) for the plane)
3. .par-File (flightcarakteristik)
4. .wav-file for sound

The wav and the par-Files can you use from a other plane.
All the files must be the same name (example: test.wav, test.par, test.x and test.bmp)

For the Preview-picture you need a jpg-file that was name with test_prv.jpg (width and hight 200x200 pixel)

In the .x-file are the modelconstuktioncode as x,y,z parameters.

that Japanese site is very good to start with, but it seems to be written for an older version of the program. I can't get
the 'pull' command to work when making the wings. You should be able to use a rectangle select box to select mutiple faces, but you can't. Unless I,m doing something wrong, of course!

After getting FMS configured lastnight and playing withit for a few minutes, I saw this thread and thought Id try some model importing. This is just a stock Truespace model, off axis but oh well its a start!
