MetasequoiaLE HELP! - Weird font in program

Postby Swedish Mike » Sat Aug 07, 2004 9:35 pm

Hi!

I'm hoping someone here can help me sort this out. I'm trying to use MetasequoiaLE but all the buttons are written with some kind of font that is very hard to read. The program also have "Yen-signs" instead of the "backslash"??

I'm guessing MetasequoiaLE has picked up the wrong font from Windows, but I can't figure out which one and how to change it. Nothing in the MetasequoiaLE-ini-file say anything about which font to load.

Help someone, please! ???

/Mike

sounds like the language need to be changed..
to change it goto file which is the first one on the top left
then go six down on the menu under file to Configuration
then the next screen to open up make sure the first tab is selected
the top drop down box is for the Language..Select english
sounds like Japanese is selected at the present time..

Good luck hope this helps...

Thanks Brad, but my problem is more complicated then that. ??? I'm sure I'm in the right language-mode and the menues are all fine. But look at this screenshot of the buttons:
Image

See? The font on the buttons are a bit hard to read.

And here's another odd thing:
Image
Yen-signs instead of the ordinary right-slash? What's up with that??

Ok, I think the Metasequoia program works just fine as is, but somehow it doesn't look normal. :(

More insight someone?

Cheers

Which version of Metasequoia are you running? You should be using the freeware LE version.

Swedish Mike,

I think you're running fine.

Try changing to the DefLarge.style or the icon mode within the File, Configuration, Screen Style.

Change the file path to backslashes and it'll remember them.

Just some things that you do the first time you use the program. I think it's mentioned in one of the tutorials. It's just been awhile since I've done it.

Thanks for the tip! The file path are now back to normal. Unfortunetley nothing happened to the font on the buttons.

I've also dicovered another "glitch": No matter what I try, I can't get Metaseq to show the background image I want to use as reference.

Cheers

Click on the 'Img' button at the top of the drawing area, then right click over it to bring up the diaglog box from where you can browse the image you want.

Wait till you get to texturing.
There is a way in the preferences to change button styles.
Meta 2.1 is the free one {LE} but 2.3 is much superior and easyer to use. I've been useing meta 2.3 for about five monthes, the only thing I use LE for is to export a more usable file type. if you have any other problems go to one of the 3d cg art sights, people there can be vary helpful. ;)
Also 2.3 can be used to make hieght maps for landscapes. Under objest is create, it creates a 3d landscape.
Hmm, if I could figure out how to post a picture here I could show you what can be done with the create and uvwrapping. oh well.

@ docdan: I found the problem with the background image - I needed to run the program in GDI-view.

@ manleystanley: Thanks for the info about V2.3!

If you need help on posting pictures I can reccomend getting a free account at . You can upload your photos there directly from your harddrive and then copy the url to here and paste in in "Image". It's a doddle! :)

Regards

I have windows on my computer and it works. You might have a virus. It works on mine because I have windows xp. You might not have the right graphics card.(I'm not sure.)

Sorry if this wasn't any help.

Also, Manley Stanly, when you transfer the .mqo files from metasequoia 2.3 to 2.1, does yours lose color?

Thanx.
