first model, cant see it in FMS

I made my first model the other day. It is of a homemade electric flyer I made. I exported it to .x file, and snagged a copy of a different .par file and renamed it to my plane name to test fly it in FMS. When I load the plane in FMS, it is invisible, but it does take off and fly about. What do I have going on here? I put the files on my website

Your model was too big. It was about 5 times larger than it should be. Also, you had the model oriented incorrectly.

In Metasequoia LE, the F1 button should show the side view of your model nose to left, tail to right. The F2 key brings up the top view tail above, nose below and the F3 brings up a front view. If it's not oriented that way, it'll not fly correctly.

I also modified the wheel entries for your model and added a vertical stabilizer.

Hey that's fantastic. Thanks for fixing me up. It even flies in the sim, although a bit strange taking off. Does the shape of the model affect the behavior in the sim at all, or is that all controlled by the par file? And where is a good guide on editing the par file to get the right characteristics? Thanks.

I tried editing the plane to change the CG a bit and when I ran it in FMS, it was invisible again. Maybe I am not getting the x file correct. I am using MetasequoiaLE R2.3. I also noticed that the exported x file was 262kb, while the working model you sent was about 80kb. Any ideas? Also the wingspan of the actual plane is about 110cm, is the scale of the model correct then? Thanks again. This is great fun.

for exporting mqo file to fms (*.x) use the version 2.1 no other one will do.

One question about paredit. Do you find that it crashes easily on startup? I usually get a blue screen with an OE error when trying to start it, or I get an error of "External exception 46". I always get a blue screen when trying to open a par file. What gives?

It runs fine on 3 of my computers all running Win2000 though.

If you're running another OS, check the default settings for ParEdit.exe and see if it's running in some compatibility mode.

whats the latest version of paredit? Or is there another comparible editor? And what does GeoEX do? I think it works. I can load the x file of my model, but there isnt any editing things. Oh, BTW, I installed metasequoia 2.1 and I am able to edit the model and export it properly! I was very pleased the first time it worked. Thanks.
