Both WinZIP and WinRAR ask you for a directory when extracting.
But also when you use something different and extract a ZIP-file to the same directory, then just copy all extracted files to c:\....\FMS\Model
If you install some more planes, I can highly recommend to put the files for each plane into a seperate subfolder named like the plane.
eg.:
You downloaded the "Foppy" from my Webpage. Then you should extract it to c:\...\FMS\Model\Foppy.
That will give you some more overview what you have installed and makes it much easier to deinstall a plane.
I personally have about 50 different Models installed and if you then put them all directly into the model directory you simply get lost! So having subfolders for each planes is a really good idea!

every time i click on a plane a window comes up and asks me to save it or just open it and i save it under the name it gives me but thats about as far as i get then it creats a shortcut to my desktop and i click on it and it gives me options to open it with but none of them work and i'am not a computer genious.

When downloading, save to a folder. (I use My Docs.)
To unzip, open Winzip.
Click "Next".
Click "Select different folder".
From pop up menu select:-
Local disk "C". > Programs > FMS > models.
Click "OK".
Click "Unzip now."
Close Winzip.
With any luck you will now have the model ready to fly.

Flyboy,
when you click on a link of a plane and you'r asked to save or open, chose SAVE. Then a Dialog apears which allows you to chose a folder. DO NOT accept the default folder - it's the desktop!
It is better to choose a folder which is dedicated for downloaded files, e.g. "My Documents" or an subfolder of it.
Make sure that you remember that folder!
After downloading the file in a directory of your choice, use the Explorer to navigate to the downloaded file. Then double-click on it and continue with the procedure which Arvee discribed.
