Pardesigner & Helis - Is there an english Manual?

Postby lego » Fri Jul 25, 2003 9:52 am

Hi everybody,

I've already created a VTOL-flyer, that works fine. But when I wanted to creat another one I was surprized that adjusting the par-file to its dimensions and behavior allways causes the flyer to crash while standing on the ground. ???

I have controls at neutral and do everything I do with my other VTOL-flyer, the new one crashes. When i hand-launch it, it flyes great... :)

What I'm now wondering is that obviously my 1st VTOL-flyer is ok by accident.

Is there anywhere an english manual for the Pardesigner, or has anybody an explanation of the point cordinates and especially the point parameters (like "displacement") ?

Or is there another par-file-tool that allows to create helis?

Would be verry helpfull! :D

Hi Lego,

I used to get this happen all the time with my helis, just modify the mqo file and raise the model up in it, then recompile into an .x file. Then try it. It is crashing because the model is detecting a crash with the ground in FMS.

Hope that this helps

Kind Regards - Trvo

Didnt help.

what I do not understand is that obviously helis use special boundary points (the ones definied in the par-file). But I think when these points are e.g defined 4 for the landing gear and 4 or 5 for the rotor that should be ok.

The only thing I can suspect causing an error is that there might be a different coordinate system.

In Metasequoia the Y-axis is the up-vector. Is ist the same in the x-file/par-file?

Hey,

I had a 3D imperio helicopter that used to keep crashing all the time in FMS. I just tried using my par for my Eco 8 on my 3D imperio and it stopped crashing. I then compared the par files but there was only differences in the responses and a few things that were unknown to me. I can send you the par file if you wish.

Hope that it helps - Trvo

Hey,

Actually, just copy this into Notepad or Wordpad and rename it to a .par file:

1 1:Type(-) ‹@‘̃^ƒCƒv[1=ƒwƒŠ]

2.900 2:m(Kg) ‹@‘ÌŽ¿—Ê
0.05 3:Izz(Kg*m^2) ƒˆ

Hi,

yes you can do that, but I'm feeling unhappy with that, because I want to understand what parameters have to be adjusted.

For example, what does "displacement" mean for a point in Pardesigner? I understand that there are the collision-force-limits for each point - but displacement???

I also have a good working par-file for my "TurboDuckt", but it didnt work with the new model I created although it has nearly the same dimensions - so I want to understand whats going on...
