I had no idea fuel consumption was relevant as you describe but it makes some sense. Just tried altering it and, yes, it certainly does the trick. I think I will now use that parameter as the primary power adjuster in the future.
Aren't a lot of the 2.7 models spastic when used with 2.8? A certain giveaway is the tail dragger with its tail in the air! I am now quite good at modifying the 2.7 jobs and will be even better with your tip above! I just get the wheels, points and CG sorted and that pretty well takes care of the worst problems. Totally spastic models then become flyable in one fell swoop!
One good tip in another post, watch the height of the nosewheel on a trike U/C. If the plane won't climb out smoothly at takeoff, raise the nose a little with the nosewheel adjustment.
