flash 5 & serial port - build or buy a connection

I can solder but need any diagrams to be really simple, is there a website that easly explains the construction of a cable or can they be purchased on the net - I guess I'm not electronically that literate - my computer doesn't have a parallel port

If it has at least a serial port, than make or buy (contact me if interested, Sergeev_in_NY@yahoo.com) a serial cable.
If your PC doesn't have any ports except for USP (so called "legacy-free PC"), than you may buy a USB-to-Serial converter.
