Linux joystick driver for serial PIC interface?

Postby Slowhand_47 » Fri Jun 20, 2003 12:59 pm

Hi everyone!

It would be nice to use my R/C as a joystick. As my main OS is Linux I'd really like to know if anyone has heard about a driver for the PIC interface? I've seen the driver for the serial standard interface and read about its problems but I've not yet found something for the PIC interface.

According to my knowledge, I don't believe that it is neccessary to load a driver for the PIC serial interface. If FMS runs correct under Linux, the PIC interface should also.

Or, I might be totally wrong?
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

Yes, it should. But I don't think there will be a working version of FMS for Linux in the near future. Still there are some Linux R/C-sims out there and maybe one could use the FMS interface for them (and other sims like flightgear) as well. So I'm looking for a generic joystick driver for it.
